Frequently Asked Questions

What training do TRL therapists have?

All of our therapists are registered and licensed from the AHPC. Their qualifications are all degree graduates with at least 3 years experience. In addition to their professional training, they are required to go through a rigorous internal training on TRL system when they join our team of therapists. They’re also encouraged to attend monthly technical trainings where we bring in some of the top therapists in the world to teach on various subjects to our staff. On top of that, the unique experiences of each of our therapists are what makes us one of the best health and fitness clinic in the region.

How is TRL different than other therapies?

The uniqueness of TRL starts with the belief that in some way, everything is connected to everything else. Many therapies don’t have a goal outside of working on what hurts and that specific area only. With TRL, we start by looking at the global picture of how your body is ordered and balanced, how your body moves, and how one issue can lead to problems elsewhere. This helps us look strategically and systematically at identifying the root cause of any pain, dysfunction, or areas holding you back from performance improvements. From this point, we work with only manual therapy (read: hands-on) and movement based exercises to create lasting change. Other clinics rely on machines to get the job done, we don’t.

Will the sessions be painful?

It depends a lot on your individual pain tolerance and experience with being treated. Most clients can feel some discomfort here and there but call it, “the best pain of my life”, because we work at a deep level releasing long-held tension and you’ll feel instantly better after your session. Based on thousands of hours of refining the TRL framework, we’ve learned that to create a permanent change in a tissue quickly, at times techniques are required that can be painful. If at any point in time you’re feeling uncomfortable, just let your therapist know and they will modify the session intensity.

Can you/do you fix {insert condition/injury/etc}

The answer is yes, we have collectively seen thousands of patients and have experience with many variations of dysfunctional muscular patterns and injuries. If you have anything extremely exotic or have any questions you want answered about a specific condition or injury before coming to your first TRL session, feel free to contact us and we’ll connect you with the appropriate therapist who can answer your questions for you.

How long does a session last?

Your initial assessment and treatment takes approximately one hour, and follow up visits are either 45 minutes in length depending on the aims of the session. You can extend your session should you find yourself benefiting greatly from the guided corrective exercise sessions.

Will I get treated during my initial assessment?

Definitely. While we start your initial assessment with a thorough body screen and muscle testing, we also find a lot of value in continually re-assessing throughout your treatment, getting you off the table to walk around, assessing postural changes, and ultimately seeking out the root cause of your dysfunction through constant testing and re-testing through every one of your treatment sessions.

How do I choose which therapist is right for me?

All TRL therapists working within our clinic have gone through extensive training beyond their professional schooling in order to successfully solve and improve a wide variety of real-world challenges that our clients bring to us every single day. There’s strength in numbers, and the strength of our team comes from the learning and talent development of our therapy team working together. In short, you can’t go wrong with anyone on our team – choose a therapist based on the date and time that is convenient for you.

How many sessions do I need?

Although your therapist will be able to provide you with a much more accurate timeline following your initial assessment. For more minor, non-chronic injuries or movement challenges we can see dramatic improvement within 4-6 sessions. For more major or chronic injuries or movement issues we give an estimation of 10-12 sessions. Finally, for severe or long-term chronic issues, it may take up to 20 sessions to see a significant resolution of your symptoms. These are very general estimates and every patient case varies, and often you’ll feel improvement from the very first session.

How can TRL help me if I’m not in pain?

This is where we come in! Our business model is focused entirely on future-proofing you. If you are injured, we get you out of the pain-free state. If you are healthy, even better – we get you to be healthier, we make sure you don’t even get injured.
